A bit about the product:

Finlandia cheese has over 150 years of master cheese making in their background and their expertise is clearly identifiable when you taste the superior flavor of Lacey Swiss. From the first bite one can taste the full flavor. This is due to the fact that it is aged 60 days, more than most other low fat cheeses on the market.  Finlandia Lacey Swiss has a delicate, lacey texture that is lower in fat and salt content for healthier sandwiches and wraps, and can be found at the supermarket deli counter.

Here is a recipe that utilizes Finlandia Cheese:

The Classic Lacey Swiss Sandwich

Ingredients:

Whole wheat bread

Lettuce

Tomatoes

Finlandia Lacey Swiss

Bean sprouts (optional)

Directions:

On whole wheat bread, place green leafy lettuce and ripe tomatoes

Then drape thinly sliced Finlandia Lacey Swiss

Add bean sprouts

Delicious flavor without high calories

Big Apple Turkey Rye Not

Ingredients

2 Tbs. apple butter

1 Tsp whole grain mustard

2 slices marbled rye bread

¼ cup shredded coleslaw

2 oz. thinly sliced turkey breast

2 oz. sliced Finlandia Swiss Cheese, Light Swiss or Lacey Swiss

2 slices red apple

Directions:

Mix apple butter and mustard. Toast bread, if desired. Spread apple butter mixture on each slice of bread. Then layer one slice of bread with coleslaw, turkey, Finlandia Swiss and apple slices. Top with remaining bread slice.

Serves 1 sandwich
What Budget Savvy Diva Thinks:

There is a lot that can go wrong with cheese – but Finlandia does it right. We all know what fake icky cheese taste like – well this cheese is the exact opposite. I actually snagged the swiss variety – used it on the Hubby’s sandwiches which got rave reviews plus paired the cheese with slices of apple – a great gluten free treat. Though the cheese does sport a modest price tag – it is wonderful cheese perfect for special everyday occasions.

Budget Savvy Diva Rating: 9.5/10

- Great cheese – but the price tag is not super wallet happy – but I would buy it with a coupon even though it is a $1.00 or $2.00 above competitor cheeses like Kraft.
