BSD got a coupon for a free frozen strawberry lemonade from McDonalds from the Sunday Newspaper so we wanted to try it out and let you know if it’s worth the $1.59 purchase price. First off, it’s twelve ounces and we didn’t finish it. I know that doesn’t sound good, but strictly speaking in terms of value I’m just saying a little goes a long way. The taste is actually very good. I particularly enjoyed the strawberry and the two flavors mixed together really well.
At first sip, pre-stir, I got wonderful strawberry flavor that made me wonder if they didn’t use real strawberries. The beverage blended to order, which is supposed to be special because it’s hand made for you, but the reality is that not having a machine that consistently churns the icy mixture means that it comes out chunky and not smooth. Unfortunately, as with most frozen beverages we reached that inevitable point where it began to separate into icy mush and strong syrupy liquid.
It was good for a few really good sips though. We thought it would be priced at $2 and were surprised to discover it actually retails for $1.59. I think that’s pretty reasonable, especially if you share it which could easily be done. I wouldn’t get it for myself for more than a dollar, but with the dollar off coupon at the McDonalds website you can do even better and try it for $.59. That’s a steal. I definitely recommend it at that price. Try it with a friend.
