BSD and I went to Santa Barbara to meet my dad for his birthday. I Love Inns got us a room at the Cheshire Cat Inn in just a short walk from state street. We stayed at the Prestbury cottage which was loaded with features. It would be a great place for two couples vacationing together, or for a small family that requires the conveniences of a small house.

We found it perfect for inviting my dad over and entertaining. There was a living room with a flat screen TV and gas fireplace where BSD did her work using the free wifi. Two bedrooms, a large bathroom, a private patio with a jacuzzi, a full kitchen and a breakfast nook, where we caught up with my dad over wine and some good food. It was perfect for entertaining and very romantic as well. In the afternoon we went out for the wine and cheese, which was lovely on a sunny breezy day. In the morning at the same place the had a very nice continental breakfast full of healthy gluten free options like yogurt, fresh fruit and corn flakes as well as traditional breads and juice.

The whole stay was superb. The staff is friendly and so thoughtful that most of the time our needs were met without having to ask. The kitchen and dining room were especially well stocked and we found a dvd player and remote in one of the drawers. It’s walking distance from State Streets shopping and nightlife, and just a couple minutes cruise to Sterns Warf. The cottage is $270.00 which can be easily split if you want to go dutch with some friends. Plus, for $25 you can get a book from I Love Inns with a BOGO free voucher. That’s potentially under $75.00 a night! And believe me, you will want two nights.
