Impulse Tries! Part 1
This is a Mr. Savvy Review
One way in which Phoenix differs from Los Angeles was apparent from the beginning and still seems true. The cashiers are friendlier, the customers are chattier and the waits are a little longer. I am no stranger to the word ‘no’ and often turn down an opportunity to buy something even if I want it; But I do have my impulse days. The longer waits in line have certainly tested my impulses and I found a couple of new candy items that I had to try out. The first one was Coconut M&Ms! I had to see what they were like, primarily because BSD and I had just had a conversation about new products that fail due to low demand, bad marketing, or just being an hilariously awful idea.
M&Ms have made a vast assortment of types including mint, almond, peanut butter, pretzels and now coconut, which I think is by far the most interesting. It was fifty cents so there was no reason not to toss it onto the conveyor and see if BSD notices… just kidding. We shared the bag and we really should have gotten two because we couldn’t stop popping them in our mouths. I bit one in half to see the middle. It was a thick chocolate center with bits of coconut shavings mixed in. the effect is a delicious two parter that starts with that traditional M&M flavor and has a nice coconut finish. The bits are fine but you can still feel the grittiness when you chew. Hey, an M&M you have to chew just means a longer lasting treat.
