If you make these your family will gobble them up faster than you can make them – but they are so simple to make you can whip them up in a flash! This is a recipe that I learned as a child, so anyone can do it.  The biscuits are so light from the soda with a little tang from the sour cream – perfect combination 😉

Enjoy 🙂

What You Need

2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup 7-up
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup melted butter ( or margarine)
1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

What To Do

Preheat Oven To 450

Mix sour cream and Bisquick together, then add 7UP.

It should look like this:

On a flat surface cover with a small amount of Bisquick and pat the dough out.
It should look like this:
Then cut the dough into 9 equal pieces.
Place half of the melted butter into a 9×9 inch pan. Then, place biscuits on top of the melted butter. Drizzle the rest of the butter on top of the biscuits so you can  finish with a sprinkle of the garlic powder to stick to the top of each biscuit.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Enjoy 🙂

so hate 7-up, but maybe everything else might mask the taste of it, and can’t go wrong with so many of your recipes, these just might be tasty, will try w/sunday dinner

What if you used Sierra Mist or Sprite? I’m thinking the effect would be the same, but thought I’d check. These sound yummy.

I made these the other night for dinner (without the garlic -yuck) and I used gingerale. They were still delish! I think you could even use coke – pretty much anything with bubbles would work.

I made these this morning without the garlic. They are great. I accidentally added too much soda (I also used ginger ale, because that was all I had) so they turned into more of a drop biscuit, but still very tasty. They make a great base for strawberry shortcake, I’m eating it as we speak…. as I type? whichever applies… (without the garlic of course!)

Made these this morning without the garlic – had to use club soda as that was all I had. OMG. They are delicious!!! Better for just eating with a meal or biscuit n gravy – tried to make bacon biscuits and they were a little too light for that (or at least mine were). Yum.

Just made these tonight to go with dinner…… Instead of using just the garlic powder I used a garlic-dill seasoning blend that I had…. YUMMY! This is a keeper! Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe!!

I have made these twice, once with the 7up and once with diet doctor pepper as that is what I had. Both times I left out the butter due to the fact that I am following Weight Watchers and leaving that out made for a lower point biscuit, both versions were great and I served them with breakfast for dinner.

It looks as if you made kind of a rectangle and folded them in half which seems like an awesome idea, but you don’t mention it? I am referring to the pic of the finished product. I am making these tonight with my homemade “bisquick”. thanks for sharing!

I love this recipe! I’ve made it twice now 🙂 I just have one question, is the dough suppose to be kinda sticky when you roll it out, or should it be more like a bread dough? Both times the dough seems too wet but I’m afraid to add more Bisquick to it and make it tough.

I made these last night, and they were awesome. My husband told I can make them anytime. They remind me of the ones from KFC. So delicious.

I have made these several times, never seen the recipe with garlic tho. My question or issue is…mine are so flaky they just fall apart. You can’t cut them open or anything like that, they just fall completely apart. I have tried mixing them more, tried making them in the KitchenAid and I can’t get them to hold up better. Any help would be so very grately appreciated!! They are so delish! One pan never lasts at our house.

Sounds like they would be perfect for biscuits and gravy. 🙂

Maybe add more 7up? see if they come together any better?

I LOVE these biscuits! They’re soooo tasty. I’m Canadian and married to a Texan and my mother in law showed me these quick and easy biscuits, I was surprised at how yummy these tasted! 🙂

I have a recipe called “Biscuits likeHardee’s” and it is very similar and even easier: 2 C Bisquick, 1/4 C. buttermilk, 1/2 C. 7-Up. It doesn’t call for butter but how could that be bad? I roll mine out to about 1/2 – 1 in. thickness b/c we like our biscuits big! Anything skinnier makes a sickly looking biscuit. Better double the recipe, I usually only get about 6-7 big biscuits. These are great with sausage or chocolate gravy. The stars are for my recipe b/c I haven’t made BSD’s yet.

Wonder if these would work with the gluten free Bisquick? My little grand is gluten free because of Celiac’s and I’m always looking for a good bread–

  • geri

I made these tonight. I added minced onions to the butter melted in the pan. I coated each biscuit with the butter and onion “gravy”.

They were wonderful! Reminded me of my Grandma in law’s onion bread.

OK…I’m going to try making “scones”….. Add some orange zest (1tsp.) & some raisins or currants to the Bisquick … Go forward! My thought was after reading all the comments . I Love Scones!

So I did make these after saving recipe months ago. First the dough was very sticky even after putting extra mix on board to pat down. I also put it on biscuit cutter but it was way to sticky to pick up. So I made them like a drop biscuit and used back of spoon to shape after dropping them in the butter. I did use extra time to. They were delicious. Very light and flaky! I would make it again. It was very humid and wonder if that had to do with them being sticky.
