How To Restore A Sponge With Salt

Get a little bit more life out of your sponge. Y’all know how sponges can become grungy but still have some “potential” life to them. To restore the sponge to “tip top shape”  simply make a mixture of 1/4 cup of salt and 1 quart of water and leave the sponge in it over night.

I run my sponge through the dishwasher with the dishes. Keeps it germ-free and smelling fresh.

I throw mine in the microwave for 30 seconds to zap out the germs.

So now I’m going to soak the sponge in salt water, then microwave it, and then run it through the dishwasher….

I think I’ll start STORING mine in salt water. I tried microwaving it once and it caught on fire. Boy, did that stink!!

I don’t have a dishwasher (kitchen is too small, or I’d have one in a heartbeat!).
