What You Need

2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup nonfat dry milk

3 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening
1/4 cup cocoa powder

What To Do

Mix and Keep In Dry Place

Make the cake

Preheat oven to 350F.
USE 9×13 inch cake pan ( greased)

Chocolate Cake:
2 eggs
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Mix

Enjoy!

Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
Instructions

  5. Chocolate Cake: 2 eggs,1 cup water, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 Cake Mix
  6. Mix and Bake
  7. Enjoy!

Ugh, I hate shortening. Can something else be substituted for shortening?

Use Coconut Oil rather than Shortening! It is better for you and gives the cake extra flavor!

This is great! But how long can this prepared mix sit in the pantry before it goes bad? I’m worried about the shortening going rancid..

I am going to make this today and use butter rather than shortening and if i wanted to make the mix early and store in pantry, I would just leave out the shortening or butter. Whatever it is that you decide on because you could add that when you bake the cake
