I have done this and it works!!! My lettuce stayed fresh for 9 days!!!
Wash, cut, your lettuce as normal. Pack it tightly in a glass mason jar – put the top on and put put it in your fridge. Open when you want some lettuce.

Will this work the same with the plastic mason jar lids? Or does the extended freshness have something to do with the metal lid?
