Sweet Home Alabama & Beaches Blu – Ray Review

November 29, 2012

I seriously cannot believe it has been 10 years since Sweet Home Alabama came out!!!

If you have not seen the movie this is what it is about

Melanie Carmichael, an up and rising fashion designer in New York, has gotten almost everything she wished for since she was little. She has a great career and the JFK-like fiancée of New York City. But when he proposes to her, she doesn’t forget about her family back down South. More importantly, her husband back there, who refuses to divorce her ever since she sent divorce papers seven years ago. To set matters straight, she decides to go to the south quick and make him sign the papers. When things don’t turn out the way she planned them, she realizes that what she had before in the south was far more perfect than the life she had in New York City.

I have seen this movie — ummm about 6 times and it never gets old. It is a good old fashion chick flick. I thought the blu-ray quality was really rockin’

What I really enjoyed was the special features! Did you know there was a whole character that they deleted from the movie!!! Well you can see her in the deleted scenes. There is also a music video – “Mine All Mine” and alternate ending.

You can buy the movie HERE

Here is another chick flick for you :) I never saw this movie but — honestly I did not even know it existed before now.

This is what it is about

“A privileged rich debutante and a cynical struggling entertainer share a turbulent, but strong childhood friendship over the years. Two friends from different backgrounds, whose friendship spans more than 30 years through childhood, love, and tragedy: C.C. Bloom, a New York actress and singer, and Hillary Whitney, a San Francisco heiress and lawyer, become fast friends and keep in touch through letters growing up into adulthood.”

I do not cry when I watch films – but I sure cried when I saw this one. This is another film I could see myself watching again and again. I really enjoyed the bonus features like the blooper reel ( I always love those) and “Wind Beneath My Wings”.

You can pick up the film HERE

Disclaimer – These movies were sent to me to review but the thoughts are my own
