How to Check the Temperature of your Oven without a Thermometer
If you have an older stove, sometimes the temperature isn’t quite accurate. Even newer stoves can be off a little. There is a way to check the temperature without using a thermometer. Then if the temperature dial is off a little, you will know how much to adjust it for when you use it.

Here is how: Place a tablespoon of flour onto a baking sheet and set it in a preheated oven. You can tell by the color of the flour after 5 minutes what the oven temperature is. At least a ball park to help you gauge how far off yours oven’s temperature dial is.

Light tan – between 250-325 degrees
Golden brown – between 325-400 degrees
Dark brown – between 400-450 degrees
Almost black – between 450-525 degrees
