Conversation Heart Mini Cakes Recipe

Do you ever get the urge to bake something?

I would say that my favorite cooking area is baking ( I use to baking almost daily through out high school and college)

So I was watching tv and I thought I would bake a strawberry cake then I thought I could make a recipe out of it

Within 5 minutes I was setting up the ingredient picture

BIG THANK YOU to my husband Eric who went to Walgreens to pick up the candy conversation hearts that you see in the picture

For this recipe I used a Strawberry cake mix – I picked it because it would be pink ( that is the extent of my thought process)

Pink = Love = Valentine’s Day?

I am in LOVE with my gel food coloring – it really is worlds better than the normal food dye I personally feel like the colors are deeper and easier to control

If you want to pick up the set I have in the picture – go HERE

I really made this recipe as I went – I decided to line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and cook the cake in that making a nice sheet that I could stamp out the hearts

I got my heart cookie cutter from Michaels BUT you can pick one up HERE

You can get creative with what you write on the mini cakes – I went with traditional conversation heart text

I used a piping bag set for the writing – if you want the same set that I have check it out HERE
