If you love to save when you are out shopping, be sure to learn the right questions to ask the store employees to save even more!

Any Coupons?

The easiest way to get some extra savings at the store is to ask employees if they have a current coupon to use. Many retailers provide special coupons to their employees to hand out to shoppers. Be sure to ask the nearest employee on your way to checkout, or ask at the register.

Expired Coupon

If you get to the store and realize the coupon you did have is expired, try to use it anyway. In many cases the employee will say they have a new one you can use instead. Or in other cases, they will take it or offer a similar discount.

Discount Days

Many stores have specific days during the month or week when they do store markdowns. Don’t be afraid to ask when that is at your favorite stores. Getting to the markdowns first is a great way to find more for less. There is nothing better than finding some great items just marked down in the clearance section of your favorite store.

Upcoming Sales

If there are no great discounts to be found on the day you are in the store, be sure to ask employees if they know when any big upcoming sales are happening. They will almost always share and this way you can plan your next shopping trip for that day to save.

Floor Models/Open Box Discounts

Depending on what you are shopping for, you can sometimes find a great deal by asking employees about extra discounts on the same item the store has on display. Or in some cases the stores keep “open box” items that have maybe been returned in the back of the store and are ready to offer big discounts to get it sold.
