Uses for Laundry Detergent You Would Never Think Of

Did you know that laundry detergent can do more than just clean your clothes? All Purpose Cleaner

If you like the idea of making your own cleaner, you can use laundry detergent to make a great all purpose cleaner. Just mix ¼ cup of liquid or powder detergent in a five gallon container of warm water. This is great for cleaning just about everything in the bathroom and works great on walls and just about anything else.

Clean Toys

Kids toys are full of germs. Clean them quickly and safely with a tub full of warm water and a half cup of laundry detergent. Let them soak and wipe down if needed. You can also use the all purpose cleaner in the spray bottle to clean them up.

Degrease the Stove

Mix liquid laundry detergent with bleach and water in a spray bottle. Use it to spray on and clean up all of the grease splatters on and around your stove.

Clear Clogged Drain

Pour ¼ cup of liquid laundry detergent down a blocked drain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes then pour hot water down the drain to clear out the blockage.

Soap Scum Cleaner

Take powder laundry detergent and mix with a little water for form a thick paste. Rub it on the area with soap scum and then let it sit for a bit. About 30 minutes later go back and rinse the paste away and the soap scum should be gone.

Kill Weeds

Sprinkle powder laundry detergent around the troublesome weeds and in a few days it should turn them brown. Then just get rid of the dead weeds and rinse the area well.
