Eric was just recently reminiscing about using the laundr-o-mat to wash clothes.  It was brought on by a random facebook post.  The thing he remembered that he really liked was the front loading machines.  We have both always had top loaders and decided to see if there was any difference between the two when it comes to performance.

What we found was that front load machines actually perform better.  I always thought the front load was just for convenient stacking, but it turns out it promotes higher energy efficiency because it uses less water and consumes less electricity than a top loading machine.

I looked at some LG front loading machines and discovered that they are more gentle on clothes, which promotes longevity, and they have the highest spin which leads to a faster dry time.  So essentially these front loading machines lead to longer lasting, faster drying clothes and they cut down on energy costs.  They are also SideKick compatible which provides additional capacity to wash two loads at once.

The LG 4.5 cu. Ft. 12 cycle front loading washer has a plethora of amazing features including a steam cycle to kill germs and a periodic tumble to keep your clothes from getting wrinkles.

The washer pairs nicely to the 10 cycle dryer with steam.

If you think it might be time to update your laundry room, consider a front loading machine and take advantage of Best Buy’s LG front load washer promotion.  You save $150 at Best Buy when you purchase an LG front load washer and SideKick.

The pricing on these is very good and the future savings in energy costs make the opportunity to upgrade and get better care for my clothes with faster, more controlled cycles very attractive.  If you have a front load washer, leave a comment and tell me about your experience.
