Unclog Your Drain Secret
The secret it out, how to unclog your drain and it works PERFECTLY. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down your clogged drain, and then 1/2 a cup of vinegar and cover right away!! Just let it do it’s thing for anywhere between 30 and 45 minutes and then run warm (almost hot) water for about 2 minutes. I have done this once and found out that it works greatly!!

bonita, I’ve tried this, but with smaller amounts of baking soda and vinegar, followed by about half a litre of boiling hot water, a couple of rounds in a row. I think it’s safe, but baking soda and vinegar do give off a heat reaction.

I have been doing this for a couple of years. It works great. You don’t have to be exact with the measurements. I start by using one of those cables with the mascara type brush at the end to pull out any hair, then I usually use equal amounts of vinegar and baking soda, let it sit for a while, then pour boiling water down the drain. It clears it up really well.

I have used this for years. I put a cup of baking soda then I just pour in the vinegar it does bubble up. Good science project for your older kids.

I’ve also done this a few times. Works well, unless the drain clog is caused by hair rather than soap buildup, etc. Any ideas for hair that’s gone too far to be pulled out with a hanger? I shed worse than a dog!!

Get a hair screen device of some kind and put over your tub drain, clean after every shower. If baths are your thing, put the hair screen over the drain quickly after removing the plug.
Don’t brush hair over sink unless there’s a towel in it to catch the falling hair.

Also, bleach works well if hair is the problem of the clog. By cheapest bottle of bleach you can find, pour down drain, let sit approx 15min, then flush with warm water. This tip was told to me by a plumber. Works great.

Yes, it works! It’s a very old time remedy for many things! And very, very safe! Will also remove corrosion from a car battery so that the contacts work better. No toxic fumes. No worries!
