Panda Express Orange Chicken Recipe - Gluten Free
 
Ingredients
  • Chicken
  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken, chopped into bite sized pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1½ teaspoon of white pepper
  • oil (for frying)
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup white rice flour (Bulk Section)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • ½ teaspoon crushed hot red chill pepper
  • ¼ cup green onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • Orange Sauce
  • 1½ tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1½ tablespoons water
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 orange - zest
Instructions
  1. Heat Oil in a Large Skillet - you want it to be at leach 1½ inch deep of oil
  2. Cut up chicken into bitesize pieces - place in a bowl
  3. In another bowl - whisk - egg, salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
  4. In another bowl - mix flour and cornstarch together
  5. Place chicken into the egg mixture - mix till well coated
  6. Dip chicken into the flour mixture - coat well
  7. Fry chicken in batches for a few minutes ( I always test a piece to make sure of the cooking time) - place cooked chicken onto a paper towel
  8. In another bowl whisk the ingredients for the orange sauce
  9. Place the chicken in the sauce and coat well
  10. Enjoy
