Homemade Blueberry Syrup
Gluten - Free
  • 2 Cups of Blueberries ( fresh or frozen ( thawed) )
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • ½ Cup of Sugar
  • ¼ Lemon - zest and juice
  1. Place water and berries into a stockpot over medium heat. Use a potato masher and mash the berries.
  2. Once the mixture starts to boil - lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture.
  4. Discard the berries or use them as a topping ( mix in a little sugar to cut that tart taste)
  5. Place drained juice mixture back into the pot.
  6. Add sugar and lemon.
  7. Stir and simmer for about 15 minutes or until semi - thick.
  8. It should nicely coat the back of a spoon.
  9. Enjoy!
