Inspiring Story From Budget Savvy Diva’s Shopping Trip

So last night I wrote down everything I needed to buy tomorrow – planning on doing some yummy recipes. If you notice I shop at Fresh and Easy a lot – I shop their mainly because it is right down the block. The bad thing is that they do not take manufacture coupons but they do have their own. Bi-Monthly coupons they send out through the mail usually for $5.00 off of $25.00 purchase. Because I had already used my monthly coupon I had to settle on planing to use a weekly coupon from the ad for $3.00 off a $30.00 purchase or more. I go to the store early in the morning and snag their amazing manager specials 😉

Now on to the story.

I was in the dairy aisle – pondering the difference unsalted butter would make in a recipe I am planning on making. As I stared at the unsalted butter in my hand – I am sure it was an amusing sight – a elderly woman came up to me  and said ” You like Coupons?”

My first thought was it is that apparent that I am a couponer as I stare at this un-salted butter?!

Before I could reply she took out an envelope and handed me 10 coupons – $5.00 off of $25.00 purchase!

Before I could even say thank you she pushed her cart around the corner and was gone.

I was left with coupons in one hand and un-salted butter in the other.

I put the butter in my cart and the coupons in my purse and kept on shopping 😉

You know what is funny is that I have always been the one to give the coupons but never receive them – it really did make me feel happy PLUS I was able to buy items I would not of been able to because of her kindness. These items with comprise recipes that I will be able to pass on to all of you.

It is all about passing it forward 🙂

    You got a visit from the Coupon Fairy! That’s awesome!

    I have this bad habit of taking inventory of every cart that passes me in the store. Because I keep and file what seems to be EVERY coupon on the planet, I often have coupons for products I don’t often use. I’m constantly handing out coupons to strangers based on the contents of their carts. It drives my boyfriend crazy.

    Once I had a coupon to a free movie but we had no money and didnt see no way to get away from the kids soooo I was like I dont want this thing to go to waste so as I was sitting at foodlion I seen this young couple and asked them if they wanted it they seemed so happy I hope they had fun kissing and smooching in the movies

    That’s awesome I love Fresh and Easy but I don’t get any of their coupons thru the mail I am signed up thru their email service. It is usually 20% off your purchase ($10 off $50 is the most common). I usually do the same by handing over any leftover coupons to someone else or leaving them by the product (usually at Target). I do love finding them at Target next to the product as well. My sister and I say it’s the Coupon Fairy.

    I once gave a $2.00/1 Tide coupon to a cashier as I was leaving because the lady behind me was buying a bottle. I also leave coupons for things by the product occasionally.

    I to pass on coupons I will not use & and even advice on how to use them. I pass on websits , like yours, so they can learn to.
