Who doesn’t love free stuff on their birthday?

Every year I make a point to sign up for birthday rewards programs a few weeks before my birthday and enjoy as many freebies as possible. While some companies have scaled back their birthday perks over the years, there are still plenty of great deals available if you’re a rewards member. Just remember that many programs now require you to join in advance and some even require at least one purchase during the year.

• 7-Eleven – Free birthday-month Slurpee through the app.

My Best Tip

Create a separate email account just for rewards programs. You’ll keep your primary inbox clutter-free while still collecting all those birthday coupons and freebies throughout the year.

Also, don’t wait until the day before your birthday. Many companies require you to sign up days or even weeks in advance, and some require at least one qualifying purchase during the year.
