How to Make a Vintage Suitcase Pet Bed

I have been wanting to do this DIY for the longest time. Watson is always sleeping in my suitcase when I am packing for a trip so I thought it would be fun to take an old vintage suitcase I bought at a antique store and turn it into a pet bed. I am very happy with how it turned out and it really did not take that long to make and Watson loves it! If you did not know Watson is currently on a diet ( new one since we went to the vet last month) – he told us to feed Watson only grain-free wet food. Purina Muse® Natural Cat Food has 24 grain-free varieties!!! He has been loving it.

Purina Muse® Natural Cat Food is exclusively available at PetSmart. Watson is a very picky eater but he is loving the taste and I am loving the natural qualities of the food. Watson is always cleaning the plate when he eats Purina Muse® Natural Cat Food. There are tons of choices – wet recipes available in Chowder, in Broth, with Toppers, in Gravy and Paté. Which do you think your cat will like most?

This is what you will need to make the Pet Bed.

I recently did a fun tutorial about how to make a catnip cat toy – go HERE for the tutorial.

What you need – old suitcase, fleece material ( one yard), paint, brush, hot glue gun, and legs for the bed ( I used wooden candle sticks). Optional – toys and other decorations.

First paint the legs for the bed – I used a color that was similar to the suitcase. I used three coats of paint.

Using the hot glue gun – glue the legs onto the suitcase bottom. Make sure to let the glue dry.

Now it is time to decorate. Add toys and decorations. Place the fleece in the suitcase and you are done! Time to add the pet!

What kind of decorations would you add to your pet bed? What is your pet’s favorite toy?

Hope you enjoyed the DIY. What is your pet’s name?
