4 easy ways to give your bedroom a facelift on a budget

Sharing is caring!

If your bedroom is less of a tranquil and inviting space and more of a dumping ground with a mish-mash of furniture, it might be time to do something about it.

The more welcoming your room feels, the more likely you are to enjoy time in it, so it’s worth spending a little bit of time and money giving it a mini makeover.

Here are 4 easy ways to give your bedroom a facelift on a budget.

Invest in some new bedding

You might be surprised at the impact nice bedding can have on a room, so if yours has seen better days, why not treat yourself to a new set? There are several colors, styles, and textures to choose from, so you should have no trouble finding something to suit.

If you aren’t sure which color to opt for, you can’t go wrong with plain white bedding accessorized with textured cushions and throws. It’s extremely versatile, and, given how bright and airy it looks, it may also make your room appear bigger.

Give your room a deep clean

If you typically do a quick clean once a week, a deep clean can make a big difference to how your bedroom looks. Dust from top to bottom – not forgetting to wipe down baseboards, doors, and facings. If it’s been a while since you aired your mattress, strip it down, open your windows and leave it for the day.

Clean all mirrors and furniture and, last but not least, hire a carpet cleaning machine and give them a good going over. If you don’t have the time or inclination to do it yourself, many companies offer fast-drying carpet cleaning services which will give your carpets a new lease of life. A deep clean will make your bedroom far more inviting and leave you looking forward to a restful night’s sleep.

Clear out your closet

If your closet is filled to the brim or so disorganized that you can’t find anything, you will be more inclined to leave clothes lying around, making your room look messy and unkempt. Clearing your closet will not only free up some space but can also be quite therapeutic.

Start by taking everything out and only putting back the clothes you love or wear regularly. Set aside anything that doesn’t fit or you no longer like and either donate to goodwill or sell online to make some extra cash.

Upcycle your furniture

If your furniture doesn’t match and you can’t afford to buy anything new at the moment, you can always upcycle what you have by painting it all the same color. There are loads of different paints on the market these days, so regardless of whether you are working with laminate, solid wood, or plastic, you should be able to find something that’s compatible.

Not only will you save lots of money by upcycling, but you should end up with a unique and eye-catching bedroom suite.
