    While it sucks, you need to think of the other side. Sure, the company pays Vons back for the coupon, that’s great, and if they CHOOSE to double, that’s (for example) $.40 out of Vons in specific pockets when they get a $.40 coupon. They need to provide for their families, and with this tough economy, coupons are not necessarily that awesome. Say Kraft offers a $.40 off Mac & Cheese coupon, Vons doubles it up to $.80, that means that for every one hundred coupons used, Kraft looses $40 (as does Vons). They need to MAKE money to pay their employees, not dole out money and suffocate payroll. A mass majority of grocery chains aren’t doubling – and with good reason.
