Quick Chocolate Frosting Recipe – Marie Recipe
This has to be one of the best chocolate frosting recipes ever – when you start making your own frosting you will not believe how much it taste different from the canned stuff
It is kinda like the difference between Cheese Whiz and a block of cheddar cheese
I am VERY excited this is the sixth recipe from Marie the first recipe ( Spinach and Artichoke Dip Recipe ( Recipes from Marie) )
If you have no idea who Marie is – go HERE – I found a vintage recipe box in a local antique store so I am making and posting one her recipes weekly on Tuesday
Today is Quick Chocolate Frosting
I really hope you check back weekly for another recipe from Marie — pretty please comment ( let’s make this like a little community)
You will be able to tell which recipes are hers by the flower on the picture above 🙂
I did have to adapt this recipe a little bit – I found the frosting to be a little thin for my liking so I did end up whisking in about 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and that made it perfect
I have a couple chocolate frosting recipes and I really like this one — it really is very easy and pretty quick
Here is my dad melting the chocolate ( double broiler method) 🙂
This recipe makes enough frosting to frost a small cake or 6 cupcakes in the type of frost job I did above 😉 I did use a piping bag – but it you smear the cupcakes it is enough for a dozen
So I found these candles that burn different colors so I thought it would be fun to put one on the cupcake and light it
Here was the outcome
I tried to capture how cool the candle was – I hope you can see that the flame was orange 🙂
