DIY Decorative Wooden Sign
Make sure to repin this craft π
If you did not know I moved recently ( just a short stay in the new place before moving again – we move a lot) – and I am redoing the office right now to make it more comfortable without having to unpack all my goodies.
Eric and I are pretty much living out of a few boxes for the next few months.
So I thought I would share this DIY with you because it is not only really easy and frugal but it is pretty cute. It’s one of the easiest woodworking projects you can make as a couple, and it’s a perfect idea for date nights when you feel like doing something a little different than the usual dinner and movie.
If you want to see more DIY crafts then please comment – I would love to do more π I love doing crafts but I am not very good at them.
This is what you are going to need. I got the heart wood sign from a craft store – it was like $4 and I used a 50% coupon on it.
You will need a cutout stencil of your choice and paint brushes as well as paint that will work on wood.
I used some tape to keep the stencil in place – now it is time for the paint π
Now it time for fun – simply paint over the stencil – you can choose as many coats as you want. I ended up only doing one – I really liked the look of the wood grain through the paint.
Allow the paint to dry for at least one hour. Then you are going to pull the stencil off and your decor DIY is done! It really is that easy π
What type of stencil will you use ? I want to make another one with a bird π
I cannot wait to move into the new house and so I can start decorating. I am going to show you all how I do the decor π It is going to be in a couple months π
Enjoy!
