Babymoon with AirBnB

Sharing is caring!

I sometimes travel in my line of work, and in my various trips to Los Angeles and other places I have chosen to use Airbnb.  You can find some charming and cozy places with Airbnb and when they reached out to me to spread the word about new Airbnb gift cards I sprang at the chance to have a Babymoon with Eric.  We had a nice pre-Valentine’s Day weekend get-away to Astoria.  It’s a historic Oceanside town that we’ve never been to, but have always seen in movies like The Goonies and Kindergarten Cop.

We had a great time trying the local food and antiquing, we even found a vintage arcade where I beat Eric at Paperboy.  It didn’t quite have that frozen in time feel I had envisioned.  The economy seems to have taken quite a hit, but the town did have its charms.  And by ”charms” I mean lots and lots of sea lions.  They were very amusing.  We went south to Seaside Aquarium and fed seals, too.  The aquarium was super close to (imagine that) an outlet center!

Meanwhile back at the Airbnb, the interior design was very well themed as a beach house.  It was a cute little suite with a small kitchen, a bathroom, a living/dining area, and a bedroom with windows overlooking the harbor.  The house was actually a duplex which is something to consider if you are concerned about noise.  This particular Airbnb did not offer food which is another thing to consider asking about ahead of time if you are looking for a true bed and breakfast experience.  Most places will at least have a fruit bowl or something.

Airbnb is a great way to travel and it’s a convenient alternative to traditional hotels that provides a one of a kind experience and usually creates a rich environment to experience your trip from.  There are Airbnb’s all over and when our family comes to visit the babies Airbnb will be the perfect solution for lodging.  Now that there are Airbnb gift cards at Fred Meyer we have the perfect gift to give to our out of town relatives.  Kroger stores have a special promotion from February, 26-March, 11 in the form of a digital coupon for $10 off a $100 Airbnb gift card!
