You do not need to be a domestic god or goddess to have a home that always looks its best. While some people are naturally tidier than others, even the messiest amongst us can put some simple habits into place that can transform their surroundings into a neat and well-ordered dwelling place but always know you can order Fabulously Clean House Cleaning. Below are a few tips you can start putting into practice that will help keep your home tidy at all times:

1.         Make the Bed

This can seem like a chore first thing in the morning, especially if you’re in a rush to catch the train to work. However, the ritual of making your bed will not only give your bedroom a tidy appearance, it can also give you a sense of accomplishment as well as a feeling of calm knowing that your personal space is clean and organized.

In addition to getting the day off to a good start, a poll by the National Sleep Foundation found that people who make their bed in the morning are more likely to sleep better at night.

2.         Clean up as you Go

One of the greatest secrets to a tidy home is simply cleaning up after yourself. Instead of waiting for the mess to accumulate before taking action, cleaning up as you go will ensure your home stays tidy throughout the day.

Get into the habit of wiping down kitchen surfaces as you prepare your meals and wash your dishes after eating rather than letting them pile up in the sink. Put away your clothes after you’ve taken them off and dust and vacuum regularly rather than allowing dirt and dust to build up.

3.       Wash the Dishes

No one needs the headache of trying to scrub their pots and pans clean of tough food stains and stubborn grease. This chore can easily be eliminated by washing your dishes immediately after each meal and to make the process easier let the dishes soak in some hot, soapy water while you eat.

If you have a dishwasher, begin loading it up at the start of the day and switch it on after dinner for a wash cycle at the end of the day.

4.       Deep Cleaning

With your house looking tidier by the day, you can now allocate 30 minutes or so each week to some of the larger cleaning jobs such as cleaning appliance surfaces, the refrigerator and oven in the kitchen, and the bathtub, toilets and sinks.

Go around the house and give the doorknobs and light fittings a clean as well as dusting the blinds, furniture tops and window sills.

5.       Declutter

As the kids grow up it’s easy to accumulate toys, clothes and books which will never see the light of day again. Consider selling these items or donate them to your local charity shop.

It also pays to recycle or donate old furniture, outdated electronic goods and kitchen appliances every few years rather than storing them away in the attic or closet. A skip bin hire service can help take away larger items and household rubbish freeing up valuable space in your home.

These five habits will have your home looking picture perfect in no time!
