How does carpet cleaning work?
As you may know, carpet cleaning is very different to vacuuming your carpets. This service is often called carpet shampooing because the machine used pushes carpet cleaning solution deep into the pile of your carpets and then massages it with brushes. It then uses high-powered air to draw the cleaning solution and any dirt, grime and pet hair out of the carpet, leaving it looking new again.
For all of our carpet cleaning sessions, we use the most advanced carpet shampooing machine available; the Alltec Evolution. This is an industrial-grade carpet cleaning machine with the power we need to make your carpets look new again. We also use the best carpet shampoos available: either Alltec or Prochem cleaning solutions.
We have a specialist crew of carpet cleaners at Cleaning Express because this is a very specialised role. All of our carpet cleaners are trained by NCCA-approved trainers to the highest industry standards. The NCCA, by the way, is the National Carpet Cleaners Association, and Cleaning Express is proud to be a member of this association.

What is upholstery cleaning?
Upholstery cleaning is very similar to carpet cleaning in that we use a specialist machine and cleaning solution to clean your upholstery. This could be your sofa, chairs, mattress or curtains, for example.
While the same machine is used, the attachments are different. We have all the attachments we need to clean any type of upholstery. From very fine tools that will push the cleaning solution into your fabric and draw out any dirt to slightly large ones for larger-scale work like sofas and armchairs.
The aim of upholstery cleaning is the same as carpet cleaning, to draw out all the dirt and grime in the upholstery, making it look new again.
For delicate fabrics, we also test the solution on a hidden area. There are some fabrics that we cannot use our upholstery cleaning machine on. For these, and for very old pieces, it best to use other techniques, which are carpet cleaners are fully trained in as well.
Additional carpet and upholstery services to consider
If you feel like you’re in a constant battle with stains on your carpet or upholstery, we can add a layer of protection for an additional cost. We can apply StainGuard (a similar product to Scotchguard) for a small additional fee. This ensures stains will not penetrate into your carpets or fabrics and makes it much easier to clean stains off.
This is an excellent additional service to have if you have just had new carpets put down and want to keep them as clean as possible. Or you want to protect the fabric on an antique sofa, for example.
Can I add these cleaning services to my clean?
While both our carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning services are available as standalone services, they can also be added to almost every one of our other cleaning services. The most common cleaning services these are added to, though, are deep cleans, end of tenancy cleans and after-building cleans.
