How to Heal Acne Scars
It really is almost as easy as 1.. 2.. 3.. To get started make sure that you have 4 teaspoons of lemon juice, 3 teaspoons of plain yogurt, 4 tablespoons of honey, and 1 egg white. Mix all four ingredients together and let sit on your scars for 15 minutes. When the 15 minutes are done, simply rinse with warm water.

Have you tried this? Do you need to repeat? If so, how often?

Once a week :)

I have the same type of daily mask and this suits me well , moreover i add in some turmeric powder because turmeric is used to cure scar as well. In some asia countries they rub fresh turmeric on open wounds to kill bacteria and heal scars.

It is legit — though it would be kinda a weird scam

That would definitely be a weird “scam” lol
I’ve tried the egg white/honey/lemon just mask
Made my face lighter and softer in a couple of days.
I will continue to do this until the day i die!!!

*i’ve yet to use the the yogurt, but will definitely try that*

I’ve used apple cider vinegar to clear up acne which I just apply topically and this is the best my face has been since I was pregnant! Hope this works for the scars ! Good luck ladies!

Reply

Gator5936 December 17, 2012 at 12:47 am

What did you do with the vinegar?

Reply

Amy December 23, 2012 at 2:26 am

Applying topically means you just put it on your skin. Soak a cotton ball or cotton round in it and wipe it over your face like a toner.

Kathy June 4, 2013 at 6:57 pm

Is the ACV daily or weekly? Also do you rinse it off?

Reply

Matt'sMom January 11, 2013 at 7:57 pm

I have been using ACV for a few weeks too and it’s helped tremendously! It’s a miracle worker. I had horrible hormonal acne pop up right after the birth of my son and it’s finally getting better. I will give this recipe a try for the scars I got during that catastrophe.

Reply

LaLa January 15, 2013 at 3:09 am

Reply

Michelle January 24, 2013 at 12:41 pm

Greek yoghurt is a type of plain yoghurt. Plain means unsweetened and no fruits or other stuff added to it. Greek yoghurt is this but tends to be thicker and sharper than the other yogurts marketed as plain yoghurt.

So either will work.

Reply

Lisa July 11, 2013 at 9:03 pm

Hi, I’m an esthetician and I’ve recommended something like this to several of my clients. It’s best to use Greek yogurt because it’s thicker but you can also use sour cream. And hold on….. if you have leftovers in the fridge that have gone bad, it’s even better because it’s more concentrated! It’s the acids in these products that makes it work. Hope this helps!

Does this need to be refrigerated?

Jessica January 21, 2013 at 6:08 pm

I tried the mask this weekend and I absolutely loved it! It made my skin not only incredibly smooth and gave it a glow, but many of my scars (both pitted and red marks) seemed to already slightly diminish. I would love to try using this maybe 2 times a week. Is there a reason to only use it once a week?

Reply

Budget Savvy Diva January 21, 2013 at 6:22 pm

You can do it twice a week — It is just easier for me to remember to do it on Sunday. After about 5 times you will see a HUGE difference

Reply

Budget Savvy Diva January 22, 2013 at 3:55 am

I have mine in the fridge — it lasts 3 weeks

Reply

Brittney January 23, 2013 at 8:26 pm

I ended up using plain greek yogurt in mine and added a tsp of ACV as well. After I finished, I had A LOT left over so I divided it into single use portions (in snack ziplock baggies) and put it into the freezer for future use. It should last a few months this way. When you’re ready to use, just run under hot water to thaw and then it’s ready for use! Easy peasy.

Reply

Martha May 11, 2013 at 1:49 pm

How did this work with the ACV? I used to use ACV for my face but stopped. I’m wondering if I should go back and maybe try this mixture? Have you seen any difference from January till now?

Reply

Jennifer January 26, 2013 at 2:08 am

I see that this yogurt mixture is intended to treat scars, by which I assume you mean pock-marks. I have cystic acne scars and I still get cystic acne at 53. I also have seb-derm. What effect are all those ingredients going to have on active acne and seb-derm? And could someone who has tried ACV address those same questions using ACV instead of, or in addition to the yogurt mixture?

Reply

Mimi September 9, 2013 at 3:11 am

Hi, I also have cystic acne. I can’t tell you how much money I spent on products and Dr.s. Now I wash my face using the oil cleansing method AND I quit using ALL detergent soaps in my house. I changed to Dr. Bronner’s liquid soaps. . With the oil cleansing and the Dr. Bronners I have not had break outs anywhere. The oil cleansing does help the scarring as well but not totally I am going to try this and see if it helps. I hope you will at least try oil cleansing. It seems counter productive to cystic acne but it worked so well for me I tell everyone about it now. Just google “oil cleansing method”.

I work at a dermatologist office… Depending on your skin type this may or may not work for you. If you are concerned about your acne scarring go to your dermatologist…. We love to give out samples for anything.

Unbelievable. I was super skeptical but my skin has never looked better. I also put it on my dark marks on my legs from mosquito bites (hyperpigmentation) which helped lighten them a bit. My recipe: plain greek yogurt, raw honey, one whole lemon, and an organic brown egg.

I see a lot of comments on treating acne. Ever since my 1st pregnancy I suffered a lot of acne. The kind that is a small oil pod and never turns into anything except a big red nuisance!! And lots of deep black heads that also turn into red ugly spots. I bought some RED MORRACAN CLAY POWDER one day to make my own organic blush. That didn’t work. I read the back and it says it is a natural purifier for the skin. So I decided to do a mask. That felt GREAT! It cleared up the oil on my face. Then one random day I decided to mix the powder with my oil free fragrance free Nutrogena face lotion and spread that on my face. I did that 2 times a day. After a few weeks, my acne completely disappeared. I used to wash my face 2 times a day as well. I switched to “Simple” Cleansing Facial Wipes, used that at night. Then in the morning I just rinsed my face with really cold water to shrink down the pores. If I get a pimple, I just put a spot of the powder on it and its dried up by the next morning! Hope this helps, its been a miracle find for me. If I can help anyone else feel less embarrassed or bad about their face I will!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m 29 and have been deling with a horrible year of acne. I’d never had blemishes like this before–red cysts all over my cheecks, and chin with bad scars. It feels like I’ve tried every “natural” acne remedy there is, with occasional improvements. Then I discovered this mask–not only has it greatly diminished my scars, it’s majorly reduced my breakouts. I’ve been using it every night after cleansing for two weeks now, and my skin is far on its way to full recovery. This stuff is near miraculous! Love it.
