Verizon Wireless Reaches $10M Class Action Settlement Over Fees

** Class Action Lawsuit Alert **

Verizon customers were charged a fixed $5 late fee if they did not pay their bills on time and a $15 reconnect fee to begin service again.

The class action lawsuit alleges that California consumer protection laws make such flat fees illegal.

Under the proposed $10 million class action lawsuit settlement, Verizon has agreed to distribute funds to individuals who paid a $5 late fee between June 12, 2003 and July 20, 2012, or a $15 reconnect fee between December 1, 2004 and April 26, 2012.

I will post when the form goes live to enter your information

Here is all the info about the suit

We left Verizon (this was one of the many reasons, mixed with them charging us the wrong charge, agreeing to fix said charge and never fixing it.) Serves them right to have to pay back!

Is this only for current Verizon customers that had the fee or for anyone that has had Verizon in those years and were charged the late fees?

i have been having the same problem. since 2008. about my verzion bill. i feel that i have been over charged . the entire time. at one time they had me with 5 lines. that i did not understand why. when i purchase a new phone, i would sign a new contract. but they would tell me i had to resign the contract. for the old phone. when i was not able to pay on time. of course my phone got disconnected. but i would have to pay a late fee of 5 dollars for each phone. plus a reconnection fee of 15 dollars per line. since june of 2012. they have been saying i have been going over my minutes. of which i total disagree with. as of august they say now i have gone over my minutes by 509. i am disputing this issue i need emergency help. i wrote a letter to customer service. about this issue. now my bill is 870.14 i have been paying on it. but it still remain at 870.14 i do not understand why. by the 6th of october they expect me to come up with 441.00 to keep my service. when. i am on disability. i think they are the company that rip their customers off everyday of the week.
