What You Need

2 Cups of Sugar

1 pound of strawberries

Juice from half a small lemon

Small plate

What To Do

Place plate in the freezer

Wash and take off the steams of the strawberries and mash with a potato masher

add in lemon juice and mix

Combine strawberry mixture with sugar in a large pot

Heat should be medium low — keep mixing till all the sugar is combined

Raise the heat to high till the mixture is at a roaring boil — you want to heat it for a 10 minutes — keep stiring

At the end of 10 minutes, the mixture is still runny — do not worry. Take the plate and pour about 1 teaspoon on the plate — run your finger through the middle of the jam and draw a line — if it remains clear — yay the jam is done … if not keep cooking for 5 more minutes — keep testing until it passes

Take off heat and let the jam cool completely and bottle in a sterilized jar.
