Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 4K Ultra HD™ and Blu-ray on Aug. 22

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now available to own on Blu-ray.  This sequel is bigger than almost any other movie in the MCU and the cool thing about it is that the story unfolds a lot like how it would in a comic book series.  Each action packed event leads to a whole new set of circumstances for the heroes to blast their way out of.

It all starts when the Guardians make good on a job they are hired for only to draw the ire of their employer when Rocket compulsively steals the very prize they were paid to protect.  Concerning the bond of the the team, Rockets actions continuously put a wedge in his relationships and reveal a key character flaw to be explored and developed.  The dynamics of the characters relationships are a big focus for this sequel and their interactions with each other are priceless.

Kurt Russell plays Peter Quill’s Father and family being the main theme of Guardians, fatherhood in particular takes center stage with Quill connecting with his biological father as well as resolving some things with Yondu, the ravager who adopted him.  There is emotional depth at play that is mostly the undercurrent to a fast paced very humor driven storyline that often hits the brakes on the forward motion of the plot to revel in some absurd, or silly situations.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is all about fun.  It packs great bonus features for those wanting to have a better understanding of how the movie was made, but it also has a great music video and blooper reel for purely entertainment purposes.  Guardians of the Galaxy is rated PG-13 which I think is appropriate.  With much more adult Marvel content surfacing and relying on darker subjects, gore, or gratuitous language, this movie is a lot more family friendly though it is more appropriate for teens.
