A Holiday for Gwendolyn and Lawson and Lachlan

Sharing is caring!

Thank you to my sponsor National Today for partnering with me through Top Agency on this post about my children’s incredible connection in honor of National Brothers and Sisters Day.

Another day, another celebration. I love how National Today always gives me something fun, inspirational, or educational to observe on any given day. May 2 is big for me because it’s National Brothers and Sisters Day. I love this day because I continually marvel at my children’s relationships with each other. Gwendolyn and Lawson will always be close. They have had each other since the very beginning. So no matter how different they are, they will always be connected in a special way. However, what really surprises me is how close Gwendolyn is with Lachlan. Lachlan is much less interested in Lawson than his sister. He lights up whenever she shows him attention.

Gwendolyn and Her Brothers

This morning was fun because usually there is lots of running around and clamoring for attention, but today I found accidentally that we all were sort of just sitting together as a family, enjoying each other’s company. It was neat to see all of my children just vibing with each other. How perfect that today is National Brothers and Sisters Day Day. All day we’ve had special moments from Lawson wanting to feed his baby brother to Lachlan full-on giving his big sister a hug. He’s crawling now, so he is always trying to keep up with what his older siblings are up to. I can’t wait to see how everybody takes to Baby #4 in July.

A Unique Holiday

National Brothers and Sisters Day is different from National Siblings Day. It’s a very specific holiday strictly based on the unique relationships between brothers and sisters. According to National Today, the day was started by an anonymous woman two years after her brother died. Not having ever told him what he meant to her, she wanted to commemorate his death with a day where brothers and sisters could connect and appreciate each other from the heart.

National Today is such a great resource for random knowledge and inspiration, just by looking to see what people are celebrating today. I love that brothers and sisters have their own special holiday and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
