What You Need
2 Tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried dill
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion flakes
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp pepper
What To Do
Place all ingredients in a bowl
and mix. Place your mix in a baggie or mason jar.
For Ranch Dressing
Whisk – 1 Tablespoon of Mix + 1/3 Cup of Mayonnaise ( or 1/3 cup non fat Greek yogurt) + 1/4 Cup of Milk + Salt to taste
You can use the ranch mix to make Ranch Dip by mixing in sour cream. It really is a taste thing in terms of how much sour cream you use. I usually do 1.5 cups per tablespoon of mix. Remember to add salt to taste
Recipe makes 4 Tablespoons of Mix

- 2 Tbsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion flakes
- ½ tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp pepper
- Place all ingredients in a bowl
- and mix. Place your mix in a baggie or mason jar.
- For Ranch Dressing
- Whisk – 1 Tablespoon of Mix + ⅓ Cup of Mayonnaise ( or ⅓ cup non fat Greek yogurt) + ¼ Cup of Milk + Salt to taste
- You can use the ranch mix to make Ranch Dip by mixing in sour cream.

It is really good. I did some tweeking on my version, adding a tsp. of Italian seasoning and using seasoning salt in the mix. I also increased the onion as it needed a bit more (my taste buds said)
Sounds wonderful
Or you can do a vegan version with silken tofu and plant milk. I like to use unsweetened almond milk, but even water works fine.
Thank you! I am excited to find this recipe – I’m trying soon.
I was at the grocery this week and had ranch dressing mix on my list to buy. Until, that is, I got to the shelve where it is sold and saw the price. I left it sitting there and did a web serach when I got home for a homemade recipe for the mix. Thanks for the post. All the ingredients are in my pantry and I never knew.
I am so glad I could help
This is awesome! Thanks! Hubby needs to stay away from MSG and EVERY powder and premade dressing I can find has MSG in it! Now I can make my own and control what is in it!
Believe it or not they don’t sell ranch dressing in the UK (that I can find) and I’d love to have some again. Thanks for the recipe!
If a recipe (taco soup for example) calls for 1 packet of Ranch dressing mix, how much of this mix do I use? thanks
I found this, which says a ranch packet is 3 tbsp.

In your Ranch Dressing mix did you use dill weed or dill seed, I couldn’t find just plain dried dill in stores.
It would be dill weed
Can’t wait to try it! However, when I went to print the recipe, my computer blocked me printing it saying it was a malicious site. You might want to check that out because your site is so awesome!
thank you so much for the recipe!! I have recently found out I have allergies to soy, corn and egg whites…all of which is in ranch dressing. (the only dressing I eat) I am going to try this with vegan mayo that I can eat and buttermilk……can’t wait to finally have some dressing again! Thanks again!!
