Look At What Happened To My Mail :(

What do you think happened?

One generous Budget Savvy Diva reader sent Budget Savvy Diva coupons to give out

But when the envelope arrived today it was ripped open ๐Ÿ™ in a plastic baggie…

NO COUPONS anywhere

I am just bummed because I wanted to share the coupons with all of you ๐Ÿ™

I had this happen to a couple of my things this week. Its the sorting machine that they use. When something is to thick and jams it up then everything behind it just gets shredded.

They probly couldnt figure out what envelopes what went in if it got that badly messed up so they will then just either hold on to it or toss it. Try calling them and seeing if they are holding them to see if anyone claims them.

I had this happen to me last week, I had a sample box from Walmart that should have contained a trial size deodorant and some body mist but the box was opened and the deodorant was gone and all that was left was the tiny body spray. I was so disappointed. I’m sorry this happened to you!

I had the same thing happen to me with a work package today. It was a box that came to us with the corner torn open that had been taped back together with an apology. I would have bought that it was “accidental” but there was marketing materials inside that had been unbound. For that to happen someone had to reach in the box. Maybe they thought there would be coupons!!! LOL

I was just complaining about the same thing the other day. I got a box from Amazon that had the tape ripped off, and the box was opened.

About 2 weeks ago, I ordered one of those aluminum wallets, and the package arrived looking like yours.

All in all in the past year, I got at least 6 or 7 packages that were damaged.

The postage goes up, the service goes down!

Heather B. I got the box too that was supposed to have both in it and it only had the body mist. I had just received a sample deodorant the other day so thought maybe they shipped them separate except the box said it was matching scent which the other deodorant was not. Don’t think it was an accident now, nothing was wrong with my box no rips or tears at all.

I’m a rural carrier and sadly we get packages and letters like this all the time. Just a few weeks ago someone got a sample can of baby formula and it was everywhere. I don’t know what happened to it before it arrived at the post office but I would’ve been upset if it were mine. Also around Christmas we get many cards ripped up from the sorting machine because envelopes aren’t what they used to be. Yes, to some carriers its just a job and they don’t care but please remember some of us still do!

I am also a rural carrier. If you think about it, the United States Postal Service has been in business for around 200 years and a stamp costs $.44 cents. What else can you say the same about in this world?
Anyway, I think that we will sadly seeing this much more often, shredded mail, torn packages with the contents missing. I can promise you that it is NOT the fault of your mail carrier or your local office. These things happen at the sorting facility. Machines rip apart letters and now magazines and packages get thrown and stacked inappropriately on pallets. Everything has to be done so fast that they (higher ups) have lost site of the customer. To them we are all just a number. Just sad!
