33 Weeks Pregnant With Twins Update
The last couple of weeks have been filled with drama – check out this post if you missed it . I think a lot of it has to do with the fact I am tired and making mistakes like cutting my hand or things are popping up like that crazy headache I got. Well I have to say week 33 is no different – yep another trip with labor and delivery. But let us start with the good – I am feeling the babies this week without much issue – it makes me feel so much better. I am noticing that I am having to slow down a ton this week – pretty much I can go from couch to kitchen and bathroom and that is about it. Even though I am tired I am in a cooking/baking mood. I was busy baking brownies, cakes, and making guacamole this week. Many of you have asked if I am nesting — I think I have already nested. I would love to nest more but I really cannot bend down or do anything that takes effort. Pretty much everything is done – there are only some small things ( like hanging some photos and cleaning the floors/kitchen). Eric did a deep clean of the house this week — but the kitchen gets hit hard every night so it needs to be cleaned daily.
I managed to take a second baby bump photo this week 🙂 Enjoy! Now why I had to go to the hospital again. So at the start of week 33 I started to have some bathroom problems ( TMI Alert) — basically I had diarrhea. This started on Sunday – I figured it was a pregnancy thing and did not think much about it. I did up my water intake by an extra 20 oz. Well Monday rolls around – still have the “bathroom problem” – same on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday I started to worry a little bit because it was not getting any better — even though I take iron pills which usually create a “different type of problem”. I called my OB and I was told to go on a bland diet of rice and bananas and I did. Friday morning rolls around and it seems like things are a little better – not much but I am not worried.
Well something happens right at 11am – I start experiencing stomach pains – like in my uterus and lower back. I want to say they kinda felt like gas pains — I told Eric about them and I decided to sip water and relax. Every hour it gets worse until I find out I am tearing up in pain. I call my OB office and they tell me to take some gas x and call them back. I do this and the gas x extra strength does NOTHING. I can burp but there is no relief. Feels like I swallowed knifes and they were hitting me everywhere. Babies are moving without issue. I call Eric at this point and he comes home right away – call the OB and they tell me to go to labor and delivery since the pain should have gone away if it was gas.
I got into my gown and got hooked up — babies are doing well. The doctors wanted to make sure I was not in preterm labor. After listen to my stomach they determined it was not gas but they could not tell what the pain was about — the best explanation I got is my body is setting up for labor and it could be painful Braxton Hicks. Baby A since Sunday had been moving like crazy and they thought that this could have caused something as well. My blood pressure was elevated as well — it is the highest it has been my whole pregnancy at 128/88.
Poor Eric, we ended up staying for 4 hours in labor and delivery. I do have SUPER awesome news though — I had my cervix checked which had not been check since week 23. My cervix is SUPER duper closed and long — having this knowledge makes me so much happier. I honestly want to keep these babies in here for as long as possible.
