I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who love PB Hot Chocolate! I will have to incorporate vanilla into my recipe. Thanks for the idea!
A few years ago my friend gave me hot chocolate for Christmas and luckily she included her recipe. It is now my favorite. I make a batch and use it all winter long, and my favorite addition is always a fat spoonful of peanut butter!
Hot Chocolate Mix
-8 oz. Semisweet mini-morsels
-2/3 cup sugar
-½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-½ tsp ground cinnamon
Combine all the ingredients in a storage container, i.e. ziploc bag or plastic ware.
Hot Cocoa
-Add 2 tbsp hot chocolate mix to 12 oz milk and microwave for 1-2 minutes. Stir and enjoy!
While i think this is a great idea. Id love a recipe that would taste as good with less the calories. . . this total drink:
Peanut Butter 1 tsp: 40 calories.
Chocolate Chip morsels 1 tbsp : 70 calories
Vanilla extract: Few drops 1 – 5 calories (depending on the amount used.)
1 Hot cocoa packet: 67 calories
Dollop of Reddi Whip Cream: 15 Calories.
For a total of: 197 Calories for 1 drink. Ouch. Thats half a lunch for me.
For the people that can afford it — Yum! Sounds great!
