Pecan Coffee Cake Recipe

My dad actually found this recipe – we wanted to try a coffee cake that would be perfect to make for the holidays

I know many of you will have family at your home and will need to feed them all breakfast- well this coffee cake is perfect for everyone in the family – real crowd pleaser — the topping is really what makes it

It is brown sugar plus cinnamon and butter with about 1 cup of toasted pecans — match made in heaven SERIOUSLY

The cake itself is SUPER light and fluffy thanks to that baking soda

I know your family will love this recipe – and it is enough to serve 8 – 10 hungry people — and it is good days after you make it as well 🙂

Pecan Coffee Cake Recipe



  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Topping
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted


  1. Preheat oven to 350 - place pecans onto a cookie sheet and bake for 4 minutes
  2. In a bowl - mix brown sugar, pecans, melted butter and cinnamon - I used a little bit of cinnamon sugar as well
  3. In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients together - in another bowl mix all the wet - beat the eggs in one at a time - Slowly mix the wet into dry
  4. Once the batter is made spread onto a 9x13 baking pan - it will rise do not worry
  5. Place the pecan topping
  6. Bake for 40 minutes
  7. Enjoy
